The footer is the final navigation layer

When buyers reach the bottom of a page, they have usually completed one round of evaluation. If the footer only contains copyright text and a company name, it misses a useful next-step opportunity.

A manufacturing website footer should work like a simplified sitemap. It should keep the key paths visible, including core services, product areas, cases, insights, about pages and contact access.

  • Do not use the footer only for copyright information.
  • Keep real HTML links so search engines can understand them.
  • Prioritize core services and high-value pages instead of listing everything.
  • Keep Chinese and English footer structures aligned where the site has both versions.

Place what buyers need next

A footer should not simply copy the top navigation. It should reorganize the next information a buyer is likely to need. Industrial and export buyers often want to check service scope, contact options, company identity, related articles or cases.

If the website supports SEO, AI GEO or ad campaigns, the footer should clearly keep the main service pages and inquiry path available so traffic does not stop at the bottom of the page.

Contact details should be directly usable

Footer contact details should be real, stable and clickable. Email can use mailto, phone numbers can use tel, and WeChat QR images should have clear alt text. Do not place all contact information only inside an image.

Even if the website has a floating contact panel, the footer should still keep contact information. Floating contact helps quick access; the footer supports completeness and trust confirmation.

  • Email: use the current public company email.
  • Phone: make mobile click-to-call possible.
  • WeChat QR: keep the image clear and alt text descriptive.
  • Form entry: allow flexible buyer input without unnecessary mandatory fields.

Use trust signals carefully

A footer can include the full company name, service directions, regional notes, privacy policy, terms and filing information. These elements help reinforce brand entity and trust.

The footer should not be overloaded with unverifiable client logos, rankings, performance claims or exaggerated slogans. Stable footer content should stay factual and clear.

Match internal links to page topics

Footer internal links are not about adding as many links as possible. A better approach is to keep core sitewide entries in the footer and use article, service and case pages for topic-specific links.

For example, company website articles can link to export website and landing page services, PPT articles can link to sales proposal and visual materials, and AI GEO articles can link to AI search and GEO optimization. This supports both buyer navigation and topical clarity.

  • Do email, phone and WeChat QR assets work correctly?
  • Are privacy, terms, sitemap and robots still accessible?
